Coated SS316 tags, ready for your laser
316 stainless steel tags with the laser-marking coating already on. Take them out of the pack and mark them. You don't spray, dry or clean up in your workshop. The laser leaves a deep black mark that stands up to salt spray, solvents, acids and UV.
Skip the coating step

A deep black mark on 316 stainless

Coated tags, answered
What are coated stainless steel tags?
316 stainless steel tags with a laser-marking coating applied at the factory. When the laser hits the coating it fuses into a deep black mark, so you can mark tags straight from the pack.
Why not coat bare tags ourselves?
Coating in-house means degreasing, spraying, waiting for the coat to dry and dealing with overspray before any tag reaches the laser. Pre-coated tags skip those steps, and the coat is the same on every tag.
Which lasers can mark them?
CO₂, fibre and YAG lasers.
What happens to the coating I don't mark?
It wipes off after marking, leaving bare stainless with the black mark.
What does the mark resist?
No effect after one week in organic solvents, or in acids and bases except 35% hydrochloric acid. No fading outdoors. It also resists heat, cold, salt spray and scratching.
Which sizes can I get?
89 × 10 × 0.3 mm, 89 × 19 × 0.3 mm and 100 × 30 × 1.0 mm. Contact us for custom sizes.
How should I store them?
In the original packaging, below 40 °C and 90% relative humidity.
